The Issue

A Call for Truth, Transparency, and Accountability at St. Christopher’s Montessori School

Dear Members of the St. Christopher’s Montessori School Community,

I reach out to you today not just as a parent but as someone deeply invested in the well-being and future of our children and our school. St. Christopher’s Montessori School should be a place of warmth, safety, and trust – a sanctuary where our children can thrive and grow. But recently, very troubling issues have shaken this foundation, impacting families, teachers, and most importantly, our children.

Alarming Behavior That Demands Action

Imagine your child being in an environment where words are not chosen with care and respect. Just two months ago, I witnessed something no parent should ever have to: school management using inappropriate and sexual language in front of my children at school. This wasn’t just an isolated lapse in judgment, but an example of an environment that has completely lost its way. If such incidents are not confronted and addressed immediately, we are normalizing harmful behavior in our school.

A Community Silenced

This problem extends far beyond single episodes. Families who have spoken up have been met not with understanding and sympathy, but with silence, or worse, suppression. Last summer, a grandfather’s heartfelt review about his autistic grandson’s struggles was quickly removed, as if these honest, vulnerable truths were misinformation. Meanwhile, only glowing praises were left on display. When criticisms are erased instead of addressed, we fail our children who were hurt and seriously undermine the values of fairness and integrity of our school.

A Toxic Environment for Teachers

Teachers, too, feel the weight of this toxic culture. Many teachers are very hesitant to voice their concerns, fearing retaliation, loss of their jobs. This is not just unfair, unjust, but also detrimental to the learning atmosphere. When teachers are stifled and silenced, they cannot bring their best to the classrooms. Our children deserve educators who are confident, valued, and supported – not ones walking on eggshells.

Financial Instability and Its Impact

Serious financial instability further compounds these challenges. For the first time, the school has lost its “independent school status” along with crucial government funding. Audits have revealed that the school’s debts now outstrip its assets, a dire situation that jeopardizes the school’s immediate future. Without decisive and corrective action, the school could face closure soon – a devastating outcome for our community and our children.

It’s Time to Stand Up

These issues can no longer be brushed aside. We must confront them as a united community now. I am calling for an urgent town hall meeting where parents, staff can come together, without fear, without censorship, to share true stories, voice concerns, and map out a viable path forward.

Let Us Be the Change Now

We have the power to rebuild a school that puts our children first, prioritizes kindness and respect, and practices true transparency. I am asking you to join me in this fight for a better future. Your voice matters. Share your stories, lend your support, and help us call for accountability. Let us refuse to let fear or silence define us.

Please sign below and stand with me for truth, transparency, and the well-being of our children.

Together, we can create the school community our children deserve.

Thank you for your courage and support.

Sincerely,
