Today, the Miami Dade College Board of Trustees selected Madeline Pumariega to serve as Miami Dade College's fifth president.
The #SOSMDC team would like to send a special thank you to all who lent their voices and their time to ensure an ethical and transparent process for the selection of the college's new president.
“Our faculty is pleased to welcome Madeline Pumariega back as the new president of Miami Dade College. As a Miami Dade College alum and former president of our Wolfson Campus, Madeline is an excellent choice to serve as the new leader of our academic institution. The faculty is appreciative that a renewed and transparent search process has brought her vision and talents back to our community. We look forward to working with her to continue making Miami Dade College a beacon of freedom and hope for all who walk through its doors.”
- UFMDC President Elizabeth Ramsay
“The role of serving as president of Miami Dade College is one of great prestige and honor and the responsibility of selecting its leadership should be approached in the same manner. We commend the Board of Trustees for remaining committed to executing a transparent and ethical process and are thankful to the thousands of people in our Miami-Dade community who raised their voices to ensure that the People’s College continues to deliver on hope and opportunity, not only for our community, but for our great nation.”
