In the small community of Emblem, Wyoming, someone is shooting dogs from a moving vehicle. On two consecutive days, two dogs were targeted in what appear to be deliberate drive-by attacks. One of them, a pit bull, took a shotgun blast to the face. He survived. But the person who pulled the trigger is still out there.

This is not a prank. This is not an accident. This is someone driving through a rural community with a weapon, deliberately targeting family pets.

The residents of Emblem are scared. They are looking for answers. And the perpetrator has not been caught.

Shooting a dog from a moving vehicle is not just an act of cruelty against an animal. It is reckless, dangerous and threatening to the entire community. Research consistently shows that violence against animals is linked to broader patterns of criminal behavior. Someone willing to do this to a dog is someone the whole community should be concerned about.

Animal Wellness Action has offered a $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction. The Big Horn County Sheriff's Office is investigating. But they need the public's help.

We are calling on the Big Horn County Sheriff's Office to pursue this case with urgency and on Wyoming authorities to ensure those responsible face the full force of animal cruelty laws.
