Petition Calling for Urgent Social Security Solvency Reform

We, the undersigned, urge Senators to take immediate action to reform Social Security to ensure its long-term solvency and protect benefits for current and future retirees, workers, and families.

Social Security is facing insolvency and scheduled benefit reduction of 23%minimum  in only 74 months unless Congress acts. This is an urgent issue that requires timely, responsible reforms so Americans can rely on promised benefits and planning for retirement remains secure.

We ask all U.S. Senators to make an honest effort to ensure Social Security remains solvent.

1)Prioritize Social Security solvency reform in the Senate without delay.

2)Support bipartisan, practical solutions that maintain benefit integrity and financial sustainability .

3)Ensure reform is fair by closing tax loopholes and requiring high-income individuals to contribute their share.

4)Push for timely legislation and oversight to prevent avoidable harm to beneficiaries.

SOCIAL SECURITY AT RISK
For more than 90 years, millions of Americans have depended on Social Security for financial security. With a 2032 insolvency date and potential 24% benefit cut looming, the certainty once provided by the program is in peril.

Restoring solvency to Social Security will require navigating difficult tradeoffs. Policymakers have many options to restore solvency while also strengthening retirement security, promoting economic growth, and better targeting taxes and benefits. However, they must act quickly to prevent deep, abrupt benefit cuts that would affect all beneficiaries, regardless of age or need.

With insolvency projected to occur during the terms of the next elected Senators and President, candidates and policymakers must decide how they will secure a program vital to millions of Americans. That starts with putting forward a plan because if Social Security becomes insolvent – no state would be safe the average cut to every person no matter what state you live in is estimated to be $500

We respectfully request your leadership and action to protect Social Security now.
