Offer Live Streaming Options for Spring ‘22
The Issue
We need live-streaming options to protect student health!
Students who are not able to attend classes on campus because of the pandemic should still be able to receive the same quality education as their peers. This means that all SoC courses (and beyond) should have live, online streaming options in addition to in-person courses.
COVID is spreading faster than ever in Utah, especially in Salt Lake County. This is not the time to be scaling back online options.
Is live-streaming for enrolled students allowed under new UT legislation?
There has been misinformation about whether or not faculty may offer such an option. According to recent legislation, in-person courses must be offered, but faculty may also choose to live-stream their in-person courses.
What about other departments and schools at the U?
You are encouraged to share this petition with students beyond SoC and CoE.
