Thanks again for your support. We now have 5268 supporters. The Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare told us that their study group about restraints in psychiatric hospitals was not able to come to any decision by their deadline of 31 March. So we plan to print out the petition and deliver it to the Ministry on the anniversary of Kelly’s death, 17 May. We will continue to collect signatures until 15 May, so please let your friends know there is still time to sign. We hope that the opinions of our supporters, both within Japan and internationally, will help them to make the decision to treat patients humanely by implementing the recommendations in our petition. We will also hold a press conference on 19 May, so stay tuned.
