New support from the Japanese medical establishment and the Change.Org staff

Thank you again for your support for our petition, “End long-term restraint in psychiatric care (精神科医療における身体拘束の状況の改善を求める)” There have been two new developments: 1) Calls for change keep coming. A Japanese medical journal ran an editorial calling for the practice of the use of restraints to be stopped in psychiatric hospitals. 京都保険医新聞に８月に書いたものです。 Another article was published in the Yomiuri newspaper highlighting our efforts. https://yomidr.yomiuri.co.jp/article/20170825-OYTET50012/?catname=column_iryobu 2) The change.org personnel helped us to modify the language explaining the campaign so that it would be more emotionally appealing. They also helped us to separate the single page into a Japanese and English version. The content of the appeal to the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare has not really changed, but the language may now induce more people to want to sign. The two pages are linked so that the numbers signing on both are added together, but the comments and words are independent.
