Since we got references in previous movies to memes like Sanic, we could have a little Easter Egg like this hidden in the movie, so the more curious ones can recognize this line.

Specifically Dr. Robotnik's line in the series "The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog" when he says "snooping as usual I see?". This was referenced in the "Sonic Boom" series.

Also, it would be nice to reference old material as they have been doing in the competition, such as with "The Super Mario Bros. Movie".
