Dear Supporters – I want to take this opportunity to thank each of you for signing this important petition. We’ve always been a sacrifice zone(unincorporated Maltby/Clearview) for Snohomish County. Now, it’s getting worse. Rather than require developers wait for improvements, the county accepted applications in 2021 for three HIGH-density developments along dangerous, gridlocked roads. I’ve never seen this before. All three will grind us to a halt especially when/if construction for road mitigation begins simultaneously.
Enough is enough. That’s what prompted me to put this together. We continue to need your help for the following:
- Vote for Brandy Donaghy, Sam Low is owned by the developer/building industry. Sam Low/worked with City of Monroe/state officials on the Finish522 Coalition(now stalled), but never mentioned it to any of us in Maltby or Clearview. Instead, Sam tells us that SnoCo can’t stop UGA development in our areas because of GMA. When in fact all of these developments violate SCC/GMA,
- Comment on the Paradise Lake Garden Apt Draft Env Impact Statement(DEIS). Deadline is Tuesday, Nov 2 by 5pm. Send as many comments as possible Keep each email to one topic. I’ve sent a couple and plan to bury them. Paradise Lake Road Garden Apartments Proposal | Snohomish County, WA - Official Website (snohomishcountywa.gov) For ideas ck out Pg 51,53, 60, 62 (lists deve planned, note they forgot Mallory/Cathcart), and pg 65 of 702
- Please continue to share this petition with more people you know so we can keep up the momentum. We’re nearly at 500. This petition will be submitted as “comment” to the Paradise DEIS as the first step in getting a moratorium. Then ultimately to the State, accelerate Finish522, widen Hwy 9, etc.
We are at a tipping point. The gridlock caused by these projects will be so intense those from surrounding cities, along with all of us, will be ground to halt. Now after 30 years of waiting, I believe this could put us over the top in getting SR522 finished and Hwy 9 widened. With the right people at the County/State level I believe we can make this happen.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions. Thank you again – Linda Gray (206-818-2293)
