We, the users of train line S4 Aalst-Schuman-Etterbeek-Merode-
Vilvoorde request a higher frequency of trains on this line. The
current frequency is one train per hour on weekdays, and no trains
at all in the weekend. Moreover, the last train on weekdays runs
around 20h. This line provides a very fast connection between
Jette/Bockstael and Schuman/Luxembourg (10 minutes) –
Etterbeek (15 minutes). This is a strategic connection for the
Brussels capital region and for part of Flemish Brabant. It easily
outperforms any other means of transport.
We ask to swiftly increase the frequency of the S4 to 2 trains per
hour on weekdays, 1 train per hour on weekends, and to extend the
service in the evening, pending the planned frequency for the RER
(GEN) network.
We also request a renovation of Bockstael station, including a new
access for persons with a disability and for cyclists, at the Champ de
la Couronne entrance. We want Bockstael train station to be fully
integrated in the Bockstael multimodal hub. We also want the slopes
to be maintained and flowered, and the underpass to be kept clean.
