There is an ongoing nexus in North Guwahati, Assam where people come from neighbouring states and kidnap our community dogs and sell them off to be a part of the meat trade in Nagaland and other dog meat eating communities in the North East. On the night of March 18, 2023 our beloved dog, Mikey was kidnapped by two unidentified persons from near my home in North Guwahati, Assam. She was 7 years old and she was neutered. She ate dinner at my place and was going back to my neighbour's place where she would sleep off. Two men came and picked her off between 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm. We have one witness. This is not an isolated incident. On the 4th of March, my neighbour's dog was picked up by the same men. They eventually sell them off to the dog meat smugglers. According to our sources, they are paid 1000 INR or 12.13 USD per kilo. Our dogs are then bludgeoned to death and eaten.

If we don't act now, our state will become like the state of Nagaland. They are facing an acute shortage of street dogs and community dogs which is why they have to smuggle dogs from the streets of Assam. We need to protect our beloved friends and faithful companions. We owe them this much. 

Immediate action should be taken regarding this matter. Our street dogs depend on us. If we don't act now, the state of Assam will not even have a single street dog left. Today they are kidnapping street dogs, tomorrow they might kidnap your pet dogs and eat them. I urge you to please share this as much as possible. With your help, we can put an end to this horrendous crime.
