Very important information brilliantly compiled by Mario Fonda-Bonardi, one of Santa Monica's Planning Commissioners.  Please take a moment to read the article. 

If the School Board and Staff understood the realities outlined so clearly by Mario, perhaps they would reconsider their decision.  Our greatest leaders throughout history have humbly changed course and we know that our SMMUSD school board has the power and wisdom to do the same. 

Incidentally, it's time for students to get back on campus and they need space!  The replacement building won't be ready until the Fall and kids want to be on campus! Please let the school board know that they need to postpone abatement and the demolition of the history building until we resume pre-pandemic space requirements.  Safety, health and education should take precedence over new development.
