Wednesday 3-22-2017 7:18 p.m. Eastern Time Greetings Supporters! Our precious panda Bei Bei is exactly 19 months old today. What could have been a happy celebration for him is not. Instead he is alone. Just about 3 weeks ago, the zoo shut the door between him and his mother - permanently. The night before, they were cuddling & Bei Bei was nursing. Imagine if they had known that the very next day, they would be shut away from each other. As of right now, 2,265 of us have said that we will stand up and try and put a stop to this cruelty. I leave you with this comment from supporter Suzan: "It is heartbreaking to view the tapes since March 1st. The light has gone out from a sweet, joyful, feisty panda personality. The SNZ promoted Bei Bei from his birth through 2016. They have forgotten all the publicity and money they earned when the rest of the world was able to enjoy Bei Bei's daily life. Teachers showed it in classrooms to demonstrate the mother-child behavior.They have forgotten that this is a sentient creature who is aware. After all the promotion, they have just dropped Bei Bei.
