A few weeks ago, the City of Bakersfield released their draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) proposing a vision for development around a F Street Station, if selected (note, the Truxtun Station is still the approved HSR station). The city's draft EIR includes three development plans over a 0-10; 10-20; and 20-30 year period. Under the 0-10 Years Plan, development would be focused in the downtown core from Chester Avenue east towards Mill Creek Linear Park. However, beginning with the 10-20 Year (and continuing in the 20-30 year planning horizon), the city is proposing redeveloping San Joaquin Hospital to mixed-use as well as vicinity around Garces Circle.
