After having my second cat run over on the threecocks Road I came to the decision to start a petition. Not only do I have animals I also have children. There is no gate to stop children accessing the main road, there is a book stop directly by the road which again is somthing that attracts children. The 40mph speed limit is to dangerous. If a car can not stop for a cat then how are they going to be able to stop for a child? Most area's have changed to a 20mph so why has threecocks not? It may be a main road but it is also a very built up area where children play and live. I'm hoping in writing this that we can get this changed and open people's eyes to the reality of what happens next? It may not be an animal. It may very well be your son or daughter. 

Thank you for reading this for. This is the first one I've ever done. I'm very new to this. All I want is for our children and pets to be safe. And if changing the speed limit can atleast decrease any road accidents then that's all I want to do. 

Just an update.... its with heavy heart I'm writing this �. Cookie was put to sleep on Wednesday the 24th unfortunately there was no point of return for him, his injuries were just to bad �  we as a family are absolutely heart broken �  it's most definitely the hardest thing I've had to do myself. My determination is stronger than ever now to make sure we have a safe environment for both animals and children. How many other animals have lost there lives on this road? How many children have had a close call? What is it we need to do to show that 40mph is just to much for threecocks? A child or a animal does not stand a chance!!
