Hello everyone.
Sorry I have not put any updates in a bit. Thank you so much to new followers who have signed.
I have been unwell. But I am back in force campaigning together with mencap. And just so you guys know, we have still not heard from Simon Stevens personally or his office. I am hoping that the more signatures we have the more likely his response will be.
Now I have a favour to ask of you wonderful supporters. If you all, at any time, meet your local candidates for MP please ask them to put this on their agenda as a priority, if they are successful in your local area.
The numbers of people in institutions has gone up not down. It is a national scandal that these numbers are still going up. It shows no real Success in people coming out of these institutions.
Lets ask candidates to bring this to light and make it one of their priorities if they join the Government. There will be lots more for us to do together once the election results are announced.
By the way, while still waiting on Mr Stevens response I am getting active in my local Transforming Care Partnership (TCP). This is an important group of people in charge of making sure people living in Inpatient units from each area, like my wonderful son Stephen, can come home to where they belong among their family and community. I have been asked to join the TCP as a mother with experience, and to use that knowledge to help on what might suit families best.
There is a long way to go. Thank you so much for supporting me.
