Stop facilitating domestic abuse by paying joint Universal Credit to one claimant

Stop facilitating domestic abuse by paying joint Universal Credit to one claimant
The Issue
Sign to stop facilitating domestic abuse by paying joint Universal Credit claims into one claimants account, if living in an abusive household this gives the abuser the opportunity to have control of all finances, leaving the victim with no money to be able to get out or even pay for essentials people are being put in very vulnerable situations.
With a minimum of a six week wait to start a new claim this could be putting victims off fleeing domestic violence.
Paying to the children's main carer or splitting payments between the claimants could mean the victim is able to buy the essentials without having to ask for money and gives them the independence to flee the situation.
