Our hearts broke when we heard the news of America’s worst mass shooting over the weekend. 49 lives cut short, 50 injured and many more affected because of senseless gun violence. Our thoughts are with those impacted and the US as they fight for unified gun laws. We continue to push to maintain Australia’s National Firearms Agreement 1996. An agreement that is the envy of many countries, and referred to regularly in speeches by world leaders. A step forward! Australia’s gun laws will be a key part of the agenda at the annual policing summit in Sydney this week, which will be attended by federal, state and territory law enforcement officials.
