It's hard to comprehend the heartbreak we're enduring after a Norfolk police officer wrongfully entered my girlfriend's apartment and shot her beloved dog, Stormy. This tragic incident unfolded because officers were responding to a call in the wrong location. How could such a mistake happen in our city of Norfolk, Virginia? Stormy was innocent and posed no threat; she was behind a closed door. This shouldn’t have happened.

I stand with Alizana Cumming, not only in mourning Stormi but also demanding accountability.  much more is needed to prevent other families from experiencing similar heartbreak. We need a complete review of how officers are dispatched and how entries are made during emergency responses.
