Petition updateSign the "Cancel the Dan Andrews Statue" PetitionDo we really need to spend a hundred thousand tax dollars on an obscene statue glorifying a tyrant?

UPDATE: On January 12th, in a Herald Sun interview, incoming Shadow Treasurer James Newbury pledged to scrap plans for a statue of disgraced former premier Daniel Andrews.

With 10,824 signatures (and counting) on our petition, we can support Mr. Newbury and also work towards electing the new-look Liberal Party in 2026 to ensure Victorians are never subjected to the humiliation of such a statue in our great state.

Mr. Newbury stated: “Do we really need to spend tens of thousands of dollars on an obscene statue glorifying a government defined by waste and failure?

Having exceeded 10,000 signatures, I’ll soon present the petition to Mr. Newbury. But imagine the impact if we reached over 100,000 signatures? It would send a powerful message.

Please share this petition with your family and friends and ask them to share. It costs nothing, but together, we can ensure the legacy of that man reflects his reality––as a disgraced tyrant.
