Dear Supporters, We did it! Thanks to your fast signatures, shares, and voices, our grassroots campaign caught the attention of the highest child care leadership in the state. The Oregon state representative for the National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC) reached out to us directly with an official announcement from the state agency: A new sponsoring organization has officially stepped forward to take over all of OCDC's counties—including Coos County! 🛡️ What This Means For Us: No Funding Lapse: Our in-home daycares will transition seamlessly to the new sponsor before the September 30 cutoff. Rates Stay Stable: Because our daycares are not losing their federal grocery checks, our providers do not have to shoulder 100% of food costs out-of-pocket, keeping our tuition rates safe. Proactive Next Steps: The state will issue official transfer instructions to local providers shortly. Any local home daycare wishing to start their paperwork early can email the state transition team directly at ode.communitynutrition@ode.oregon.gov. I still plan to attend the South Coast Early Learning Council meeting on Tuesday, August 4, to ensure our local agencies fast-track this transition smoothly for every home provider in town. Thank you for standing up for Coos County families and protecting early childhood nutrition. We won!
