Shut Down the Calhoun County Correctional Facility

Shut Down the Calhoun County Correctional Facility
The Issue
My father, a human being with rights and dignity, was found dead in solitary confinement at the Calhoun County Correctional Facility. We were denied our right to an autopsy or even to see his body. His remains were sent to cremation by the facility without our consent. This is not just a personal tragedy; it's an affront to basic human rights and decency.
The Calhoun County Correctional Facility has shown a blatant disregard for inmate welfare and family rights. It's time we demand accountability and justice for all those who have suffered under their watch.
In 2016, The U.S Department of Justice reported that more than 4,000 inmates died in prison custody (source: Bureau of Justice Statistics). While not every case is as egregious as my father's, each one represents a life cut short under questionable circumstances.
We need your help to ensure no other family experiences this kind of pain and injustice again. By signing this petition, you're calling on local authorities to shut down the Calhoun County Correctional Facility until they can guarantee transparency, accountability, respect for inmate rights and dignity for every individual under their care.
Please sign this petition today - let's stand together against such gross violations of human rights.
