We urgently call on the government of Tianyuan District, Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province to shut down the illegal dog slaughterhouse operating inside the 📍Tianfang Farmers’ Market.

This facility has been operating unchecked for a long time, with horrific and inhumane practices. Every morning or evening, dogs crammed in rusted cages are dragged in. The brutal sounds of iron rods beating their heads and bodies, and the desperate howls of the dying, are a daily occurrence.

The slaughter process is extremely cruel and unsanitary, with blood and sewage flowing openly. The processed dog meat is handled in filthy conditions, posing serious public health risks.

🚨 Disturbing Facts:

• The facility does not possess an Animal Epidemic Prevention Certificate, and all slaughter is Uninspected and Unregulated! 
• The business license for “dog meat sales” is illegally obtained and invalid.
• The meat sold is from unknown, untraceable sources, with some dogs even found wearing collars — likely stolen pets! A variety of dog breeds, including Border Collies, have been identified among the caged animals.

On July 29,In full view of animal lovers and law enforcement, two butchers used heavy iron rods to bludgeon all the live dogs to death, openly provoking public outcry. 

Meanwhile, concerned citizens trying to stop the cruelty were blocked by a “human wall” of police protecting the illegal activity!

This is a grotesque violation of law, animal rights, and food safety.

 Shockingly, one butcher later thanked government staff via his Douyin (TikTok China) account, stating he was back in business the next day — “the killing continues as usual!”

✊ Our Demands:

• Revoke the illegal business license immediately!  
  The Tianyuan District Market Supervision Bureau must cancel the license of “Yanlin Sheep and Dog Meat Shop” and stop all dog meat sales immediately.
• Shut down the illegal slaughterhouse!
  The local government must coordinate with the Agricultural Bureau, Market Bureau, and Police to raid and destroy the illegal facility, seize all animals and meat products, and prosecute all responsible parties.
• Investigate and eliminate the entire “toxic meat” supply chain!
  Conduct a thorough inspection of Tianfang Market and surrounding restaurants. Remove and destroy all illegal, unquarantined dog meat and trace the origins.
• Ensure transparency and public accountability!
  The progress and outcome of this case must be made public.
