The Issue

Sloth World in Orlando, Florida, purports to be a haven for wildlife conservation, a sanctuary where the peaceful sloth is allowed to lead an enriched life. However, the dark reality lurking beneath the surface reveals a troubling narrative. It has come to our attention that the sloths exhibited at this facility were taken unethically from the wild in Guyana and Peru, with their natural habitats and social structures disrupted for the sake of commercial exhibition.

Sloths are gentle, arboreal mammals native to Central and South America and play a crucial role in their native ecosystems. They are often stolen from their habitat, a practice that poses a significant threat to their survival. Importing them to a facility under the false pretense of conservation is misleading and morally wrong.

The exploitation of wildlife for profit is disguised under the veil of conservation at Sloth World, belittling the real conservation efforts made by reputable organizations. Genuine conservation practices involve preserving animals in their natural habitat and focusing efforts on protecting and sustaining the ecosystems they thrive in, not on exhibiting them for profit and entertainment.

We urge the authorities in Florida to investigate and intervene in the activities at Sloth World. This facility must be shut down to stop the unethical treatment of these sloths and prevent further capture and display of wildlife under false pretenses. By halting these activities, we take one step closer to ethical wildlife treatment and true conservation.

Sign this petition to show your support for the ethical treatment of sloths and to advocate for genuine conservation efforts that focus on wildlife protection and habitat preservation.
