We are calling on Facebook (Meta) to permanently shut down the "Say Cheese" page and implement stricter policies against pages that monetize and weaponize mugshots for public humiliation, cyberbullying, and harassment.

Every single day, the Facebook page "Say Cheese" profits off human misery, public degradation, and systematic cyberbullying.

Under the guise of sharing "public information," this page publishes individuals' mugshots, many of whom have only been arrested and not convicted of any crime. The primary purpose of this page is not public safety; it is entertainment at the expense of human dignity.

By allowing unmoderated comment sections on these posts, "Say Cheese" has created a toxic breeding ground for digital violence. 

Hundreds of users gather daily to:

Make fun of and mock individuals experiencing potential mental health crises, addiction, or the worst days of their lives.

 Degrade and dehumanize people based on their appearance, circumstances, or background.

 Bully and harass not just the individuals pictured, but their innocent children, parents, and families who are forced to witness their loved ones being publicly torn apart.

Cruel commentary is not free speech; it is targeted harassment.

Facebook’s own Community Standards explicitly prohibit bullying, harassment, and hate speech. Yet, pages like "Say Cheese" are allowed to operate in broad daylight, driving high engagement and traffic because of the cruelty they foster. This is a direct violation of the spirit of a safe digital community.

A mugshot should not be a permanent digital scarlet letter used for cheap entertainment. Public shaming campaigns like this ruin lives, destroy employment opportunities, severely damage mental health, and have even driven individuals to suicide, long before they ever have their day in court.

What We Are Demanding:

1. Immediate Deactivation: We demand that Facebook permanently remove the "Say Cheese" page for violating community guidelines regarding harassment and bullying.

2. Policy Reform: We call on Meta to ban pages whose primary purpose is the exploitation and public shaming of arrest records and mugshots.

An arrest is not a conviction, and a mugshot is not a license to bully.
