This is what the public doesn’t know about these stores!

Hello! I am a resident of Florida and I have been surrounded my dogs & have loved them all my life, so the thought of any dog suffering is unbearable to me. I remember being little and being overwhelmed with emotion every time I went into Petland, after seeing the conditions of the dogs. Unfortunately, this is the reality for many puppies in Florida due to a number of puppy businesses operating with little regard for animal welfare. These establishments have received numerous negative reviews, indicating poor conditions and mistreatment of animals. With multiple locations across our state, these businesses are causing widespread harm to innocent lives.

These puppy businesses are not only unethical but also operate through legal loopholes, grandfathering their way into the law. This allows them to continue their operations despite public outcry and evidence of animal neglect.

The community's outrage over these practices is palpable and justified. We believe that puppies deserve more than what they are currently subjected to in these stores - they deserve love, care, respect and a safe environment.

We propose a bill that bans puppy sales from small businesses that do not meet strict animal welfare standards. We also create strict standards that these places have to abide by. By doing so we can ensure that no dog has to suffer at the hands of profit-driven individuals who disregard their wellbeing.

This is not just about protecting our beloved pets; it's about upholding ethical business practices within our community as well as respecting all forms of life.

They deserve a livelihood too, but an ethical one. I am simply asking for them to change the standards, to fight for the animals we coexist with, and to thoroughly investigate these companies. Please consider supporting the removing of the grandfather clause and incorporating a rescue model for the FL retail puppy pet shops. Innocent animals need your help!”
