Petition Abstract:
An illegal printing press is endangering senior citizens, children, and families in Musheerabad with toxic dust, noise, and intimidation. Authorities have failed to act—your signature can help shut it down and restore dignity, health, and safety to our community.

Who is impacted?
Since August 2025, my family and neighbors in Musheerabad have been fighting against an illegal printing press opened just 18 feet from our home entrance.

This mapping evidence highlights:

• The proximity of the facility (only 18 feet from my residence).
• Encroachment into government land (~270 sq. ft.) with planned illegal extensions.
• Nearby sensitive establishments including John’s Primary School (120–150 feet away) and in‑house tiffin centers (30–35 feet away), both vulnerable to pollution and contamination.

Direct human impact:

• Senior citizens like my 70‑year‑old widowed mother suffer daily respiratory distress and psychological stress.
• Children in nearby schools and food centers are exposed to toxic dust and odour dispersions.
• Families and professionals face humiliation, intimidation, and unsafe living conditions.

Critical context:  

The facility has encroached on government land, operates multiple machines, and sits dangerously close to sensitive establishments—turning a peaceful residential area into a hazardous zone.

What is at stake?
This is not an occasional inconvenience—it is a persistent violation of fundamental rights.

• Noise Pollution: 68–80 decibels daily, far above safe residential levels.
• Chemical Exposure: Printing dyes and dust aggravate respiratory conditions.
• Traffic Hazards: Trucks block narrow lanes, endangering pedestrians.
• Extended Hours: Operations run 12+ hours daily, even on national holidays.
• Intimidation: Owners leverage political connections and resort to humiliation against anyone who objects.
• Deceptive Practices: Multiple business names and board switching are used to confuse authorities and obstruct accountability

If unchecked, this facility will continue to erode health, dignity, and trust in law enforcement. If shut down, it will restore safety, dignity, and justice to our community.

 
Why is now the time to act?
Authorities have failed despite repeated complaints and evidence:

• Pollution Control Board (PCB): Deflected responsibility instead of enforcing environmental laws.
• Police Department: Ignored statutory duties under G.O. 172, enabling escalation.
• GHMC: Acknowledged complaints but failed to act on zoning, encroachment, and environmental violations.
• Political Interference: Local party workers—including corporators and party presidents of Musheerabad and Ram Nagar—have been actively involved in managing and diluting complaints with competent authorities. This political shielding has allowed the illegal operators to continue unchecked, undermining enforcement and silencing legitimate grievances.
• Traffic Control Room’s Enforcement Failure in Residential Lanes: The Traffic Control Room police have failed to regulate the constant movement of facility transport vehicles through residential lanes, even on weekends and National Holidays. Despite repeated complaints, enforcement remains absent, causing persistent disturbance and statutory violations. This negligence highlights systemic obstruction in safeguarding public safety and dignity.

Every day of delay strengthens the illegal operators and worsens the suffering of senior citizens, children, and families. Immediate shutdown is the only way forward.

Appeal for Change and Intervention
We demand:

• Immediate shutdown and removal of the illegal printing press from Musheerabad.
• Priority grievance redressal under senior citizen rights, considering my mother’s age, health, and vulnerability.
• Enforcement of closure by PCB, Police, and GHMC under G.O. 172 and environmental laws.
• Accountability for authorities who delayed action.
• Protection of residents during and after shutdown, especially senior citizens and children.
• Transparent monitoring and public updates to restore trust.
• Recognition of intimidation and humiliation suffered by my family as part of the justification for closure.
• Acceptance of supporting evidence (photographs, decibel readings, prior complaints, documentation of threats).
   

This is not just about environmental compliance—it is about protecting fundamental rights, dignity, and safety. Senior citizens, children, and families in Musheerabad deserve justice.
