Shut down Fluff and Love! Justice4Reba
The Issue
I brought my beloved cocker spaniel here on 8/28/24. I asked for a bath and paw clean up and a little thinning w scissor on skirt. I specifically said no groom because I groom her myself. I hurt my hand and couldn’t do my daily coat care. I dropped her off between three and 3:30 PM. I didn’t hear from him so I went back between six and 6:30 PM. He had a dog being groomed on the grooming table. The door was locked but after a few attempts to open the door, he got up to open it. He started telling me that my dog got agitated while being blow dried and peed on herself. He said he had to place her in a crate to calm down and rest, and that he needed more time. She was in a small crate on the floor. She was not facing me. I tried to remove her from the crate By putting my two hands around her from behind. She was still very damp as he had given her a bath. I felt a thick collar around her neck. I tried to fit my hands between the collar and her neck, but had trouble doing so because it was so tight. I’ll never forget the royal blue color of that horribly tight collar. After some difficulty, I was able to remove the collar and I tried to turn her to face me. Her eyes were rolled back into her head and blood vessels were burst. She could not focus. She was having trouble breathing. I showed the owner her eyes and he said, “ I don’t look at the eyes. I look at the gums and he pulled her muzzle up to show me her gums. Her gums were not a good color. I tried to call my vet but they were closed. I called my daughter to take me to the emergency vet. She stayed on the phone with me until she arrived to pick us up. I brought Reba out of the back room and layed her on the floor. I asked him how long she had been in the crate.. He answered, “and hour and a half". My daughter came and picked me up and we rushed my sweet dog Reba to the Bay Street Animal Hospital in Staten Island. It took us 11 minutes. When we got there, she was cyanotic and struggling to breathe. They placed her in an oxygen tank. They administered steroids. They could not remove her from the oxygen tank because every time they tried to she could not breathe on her own. Finally, despite all medical efforts- she passed away. The only comfort I have is that she knew that I came to the store to pick her up, she knew that I was there because she tried to look at me. I’m just beside myself knowing that she spent an hour and a half or more, in the crate with that thick blue collar around her neck struggling to breathe. I am devastated.
Nypd animal cruelty is investigating and we want to ensure that NO ANIMAL is touched by this man.
He is not a first time offender and many pets have been killed and/or injured and his hand.
He has tried to cover this by opening and multiple locations and using an alias but he no longer hide!!
HELP US SHUT HIM DOWN FOR GOOD!!
