For me, this is personal. Every time I see the animals at Alley Cat Pet Store, my heart aches. They live in dire conditions, surrounded by filth, and it seems as if the store's staff turn a blind eye towards their plight.

Despite numerous attempts to communicate the issue with the authorities, the animals continue to suffer in a place that ought to be their safe haven. They’re supposed to be cared for and loved, but the reality is a far cry from that.

Animals deserve better; they deserve respect and dignity just like every living being on earth. There are roughly 6.5 million companion animals that enter U.S. animal shelters nationwide every year according to the ASPCA. So it's crucial places like pet stores are held to higher standards to ensure good quality of life for these animals.

We want to make it clear: we're not just calling for a change in ownership, we demand the complete shutdown of Alley Cat Pet Store. We ask for no more innocent lives to be subjected to such abysmal circumstances in our own city of Vancouver, WA.
