My name is Emily Jones. I suffer from various mental health conditions such as Anorexia Nervosa and Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder, this has meant I have been hospitalised because of this. Lol cow is a website where people can anonymously post and comment hateful, abusive, discriminatory, and life-threatening messages. As someone who has been subject to these sorts of posts, I want to take action to get this website taken down. It includes pictures where people have edited them to make fun of people. For example when I was very unwell they took a picture and added my face to a skeleton body.  I have been called 'retarded', 'pudgy and grimy' comments saying 'could she get any uglier'. I know these may seem like not awful comments. But when targeting vulnerable individuals these comments can be life-threatening. I have tried to kill myself a few times because of some of these posts about me and ended up back in hospital. I thought I was worthless and should die because of what people had said about me. I don't want anyone else to feel this way and feel like this is their only option when seeing comments that may be posted about them. I would really appreciate it if you could sign and share this petition to get this website shut down. As it is a website set out to abuse vulnerable people and as a result is life-threatening.
