In the wake of recent events, we appeal to Governor Mike DeWine to extend mercy to Deputy Jason Meade, who is currently facing legal proceedings that could result in jail time. We understand the complexities of law enforcement and the difficult situations officers often find themselves in; however, it is paramount to recognize the full context of each incident and weigh it against the decades of service and commitment Deputy Meade has dedicated to his community.

Deputy Meade has been a public servant with a commendable record of duty. Throughout his career, he has consistently demonstrated a commitment to protecting and serving the citizens of Ohio. It is vital to acknowledge that law enforcement officers occasionally have seconds to make life-altering decisions. Understanding these high-pressure environments is crucial to formulating a fair judgment on his actions.

We also want to emphasize the positive impact Deputy Meade has had in his community, as a Pastor, participating actively in community events and outreach programs that foster a safer and more inclusive environment for all. His record shows numerous instances of valor and altruism, which must be taken into account.

Deputy Meade also proudly served as a Marine.  A life of service to others.  

The purpose of this petition is not to undermine the justice system but to ensure that it is administered with compassion and understanding. We believe in accountability, but also in mercy and redemption. Governor DeWine, you have the power to influence this case with leniency. Allow us to remember the good that Deputy Meade has contributed to Ohioan society and not let this incident overshadow a lifetime of service.
