The article I written above detailing the last of the classic John Woo films still in legal limbo.

Technically supposed to be a part of the Golden Princess library that Shout licensed earlier this year,  Just Heroes ended up exempt from this due to the film being bogusly acquired by Star Alliance Movies. This is supposedly caused by SA’s acquisition of the Pearl City film company who initially distributed Just Heroes on home video in 1989. All home video releases of the film afterwards (before the CN Entertainment Blu-ray) including the 1992 Golden Cinema City HK LaserDisc and 2000’s Metropolitan French DVD/VHS would be licensed though Golden Princess and Asian rights holders of GP library, Fortune Star (distributed through Media Asia at time) respectively. Pearl City’s only involvement with this film is through the initial 1989 home video release and therefore doesn’t and never has owned the rights to the film itself. Knowing the resources and money that Shout has, it would be beneficial for them to rescue to this film from its legal limbo and give it the 4K restoration and release it deserves along with the rest of the Woo classics they have already restored/released in 4K such as A Better Tomorrow, Hard Boiled, and The Killer.
