Autism does not affect just a single individual but the entire family. It is a shame that even now people do not know about autism and its challenges. Majority of the organizations running therapies and sessions are by parents of autistic children. There is no structure or support being provided by government bodies. Most of the autistic children are forced to be home tutored because of lack of services. This is causing a lot of stress in households where one parent is bearing all the financial stress while the other is burning out taking care of the child 24/7. Many a times, families are broken because of the emotional and mental stress. 

Parents are continuously looking for help and posting their plight over social media but it doesn’t seem to catch the attention of the law makers. There are posts about some parents committing suicide and many autistic children being abandoned due to lack of help. 

What will it take for the world to realize that this is a global crisis and needs immediate attention? What do parents need to do to get their children help? What should be the future of these children? 

People are more sympathetic towards animal rights than the rights of autistic children. We have come to a stage where people look away instead of standing up.

If there is any humanity, I urge this be taken as the biggest crisis being faced globally today. Professionals should be trained in schools and health care sectors to provide parents of autistic children with maximum support and government bodies to make therapists available  in every nook and corner such that no child should be left helpless.
