After repeated attempts for over one year and 600+ signatures on our petition, the town has still refused to reopen discussions to revise the firearm discharge map.  We are once again asking for your help. If you live in the town of Penfield, please:

1. Voice your outrage at the town’s refusal to act on this critical safety issue! Email the Penfield Town Clerk, Amy Steklof, at steklof@penfield.org

2. Report any and all incidents of illegal hunting, illegal backyard shooting by neighbors, trespassing by hunters, etc. to the Town Clerk.  You should also report these incidents to the NYSDEC at 1-844-332-3267, although so far they have refused to assist us in this matter.

3. Attend the next session of the Town Board legislative meeting at the Penfield Town Hall on December 4, 2024 beginning at 6:30 p.m. and voice your concerns. If you are unable to attend you may watch the meeting on line (see the town website for instructions) and phone or email in your comments before, during, or after the meeting.

4. We have been advised by the town that they are reluctant to accept digital signatures.  If you would like to give us a handwritten signature, a representative of Penfield Residents for Safety will attend the December 4 meeting to collect it (even if you have already signed on line).

5. Please make sure you copy us on all communications you send to the town.  We are penfieldresidents4safety@proton.me
