The Clickimin Campsite is not only a fantastic venue for the local community to take a break but is a great asset for our tourists and visitors to our Islands.  It is the only campsite in Lerwick and has been established as a superb facility which has many amenities close to hand.  The site has a variety of trees and shrubs which after many years have become well established. 

If the Council go ahead with the demolition, and after building a new school, there will be little priority or resources to fund another campsite.

The emergency landing helipad is also going to be affected by the building of the new AHS.  The proposals for this also appear to be poorly thought through.

It would be ideal if another alternative solution to the siting of the new Anderson High School (not looking at a relocation of the site) could be found so that the new school, helipad and existing campsite can be alongside one another.  This is not a petition to relocate the school to another site, but simply find a solution so that they can all sit together at the Clickimin site.
