There are different types of “bullying bosses.” On the more extreme end of the spectrum, there are those who throw tirades and intimidate employees continuously; some are even guilty of sexual harassment and at the other end of the spectrum you’ll find the covert bully; the much more rampant, fear-provoking boss, who acts out episodically. “
The grown bullies within Marine Scotland Compliance are adept at finding non-assertive victims and staying under the radar as they have done in our sister's case. They bully by constantly threatening her and telling her that her job is at stake or they have their human resources do it for them.
The bullies are responsible for the top five health problems among those bullied at work are: anxiety (76%), loss of concentration (71%), disrupted sleep (71%), hypervigilance symptoms (60%), and stress headaches (55%).
Bullying at work is similar to harassment, which is where someone's behaviour is offensive, such as making sexual comments, or abusing someone's race, religion or sexual orientation. It is usually, though not always, done to someone in a less senior position. Management by fear is their method because it affects the employee's personal life because the anxiety can affect their health. The conflict is that the employee is torn between speaking up and potentially jeopardizing their job and suffering in silence.
The Scottish Government have a duty of care for to our sister to prevent bullying and harassment. They also have responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 for her welfare.
The Scottish Government is responsible for all work conditions and they could have stopped and can stop the workplace bullying against our sister if they wanted to. Send your support and ask the First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon to order an independent investigation into the years of coverup of bullying that exists within Marine Scotland Compliance.
