The new anti property rights, anti American, anti working families, anti business law is KILLING this tiny island community. This law is designed to destroy tourism and short term renting - actually, ALL seasonal renting, and even long term renting. How will the businesses survive without tourism? Business is off 30% from last summer. We already have a very short summer season:  only 12 weeks! Shelter Island's businesses are struggling.

THE LAW DEMANDS THAT EVERY HOME THAT RENTS ON SHELTER ISLAND , EITHER SHORT TERM, SEASONAL, OR LONG TERM MUST REGISTER, APPLY FOR A LICENSE AND INFORM THE TOWN OF ALL GUESTS, THEIR NAMES, WHEN THEY VISIT YOUR HOME, ETC...INCLUDING FRIENDS AND FAMILY. IS THIS CUBA OR VENEZUELA? GYM COLLIGAN IS NOTHING BUT A DERANGED FASCIST TURNING THIS BEAUTIFUL ISLAND INTO A POLICE STATE. He included JAIL TIME in this law and outrageous fines. Ridiculous! Your hard earned tax dollars pay to enforce yourself. Are you kidding me?
