Sheffield Hallam University Strike Compensation

Sheffield Hallam University Strike Compensation
Why this petition matters

The students of Sheffield Hallam University urge the University to give us compensation of £863.33 for the 14 days of strike action between Thursday 20th February and Friday 13th March.
We pay £9250.00 per year for our University studies which equates to roughly £61.67 per day (30 weeks of term, 150 days of teaching / contact time). This means we are paying £863.33 for 14 days of study which we won't receive.
Money aside, this strike comes in some students final semester before graduating, which has a detrimental impact on our assignments, exams, projects and dissertations. While tutors are on strike, they cannot reply to emails or be available for one to one tuition.
Last year, tutors went on strike from Monday 25th November to Wednesday 4th December, which caused massive disruption to thousands of students' coursework, exams and projects.
Students affected need to be allowed deadline extensions at the very least to make up for lost tuition time in such a crucial period.
We stand by the tutors and their concerns over pay and conditions. We urge the University to try and resolve this ongoing issue.
