Dear Supporters, Thank you to everyone who attended the Tree Forum last week. Standing room only and we certainly made our presence felt. Two important promises were made: A Tree Strategy for Sheffield, which will include the highway trees, and no felling of the Rustlings Road trees until after the next Forum on 2nd September. The Tree Strategy is something SORT have been pressing for since the start of this campaign, but we argue that no more healthy trees should be felled until this is in place. No point in having a strategy if there are no roadside trees to apply it to! Felling of healthy trees needs to be stopped and we have shown, as also have the residents of Heeley and Wayland Road, that local community groups CAN make a BIG difference. So keep the pressure on! Sign the petitions, and any others relevant to this cause, lobby your councillors, write to the media and spread the word to other areas of Sheffield. And great work so far guys! We have achieved so much in the last 10 weeks. Thank you for all your continued hard work and support!
