12 July 2018 Note today's update (after 392 days):

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

The following two petitions have been launched simultaneously specifically to put pressure on Chris Read and Sharon Kemp.

If the two petitions get 20 signatures from those who live, work or study in RMBC, they will be tabled for the Rotherham Council Meeting on 5 September 2018.

Chief Executive Change Direction or Resign

......................................................................................................

Original petition information:

This petition is on behalf of victims and survivors of Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) in Rotherham. (RMBC - Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council).

We ask Sharon Kemp (RMBC Chief Executive) to get officers in Rotherham to TELL THE TRUTH.

The first two questions the Rotherham Truth Campaign (RTC) would like Sharon Kemp (Chief Executive) to get answers to are:

1         Will RMBC Assistant Director, David McWilliams, please explain how he received the  original communication about the so-called “independent, expert guidance” that he emailed the co-author of Voices of Despair Voices of Hope about on 15.9.15?

For more detail, please see the Rotherham Truth Campaign Petition Update 26.6.17:

http://real2.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Rotherham-Truth-Campaign-Petition-Update-26.6.17..pdf

2         Will RMBC Strategic Director of Children & Young People’s Services (CYPS), Ian Thomas, provide “the meaningful consultation … to ensure victims/ survivors receive timely and confidential support in future”?

On 2 December 2014, Ian Thomas wrote that this “meaningful consultation” would take place “between now and next April”.

............................................................................................................................................

We hope you will sign the petition and join this campaign to get all officers in Rotherham to be truthful and especially those officers appointed since the Jay report was published in August 2014.

AFTER MORE THAN TWO YEARS, it is still hard to find words to describe the effect on victims and survivors of Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) in Rotherham of the dishonesty in the highly reckless email sent by David McWilliams on 15.9.15.

The effects of the dishonesty and recklessness have been compounded by the response to Freedom Of Information (FOI) requests.

SUMMARY

Evidenced dishonesty involving RMBC officers and commissioners after this  Freedom Of Information Request (FOI) was sent to Commissioner Malcolm Newsam on 16.9.15:

“As a Freedom of Information (FOI) Request, I am asking for a copy of all communications relating to Voices of Despair, Voices of Hope from 2 December 2014 up to 16 September 2015.”

The response (on 23.10.15):

1          failed to disclose the involvement of Jean Imray Interim Deputy Strategic Director of CYPS;

2          contained an email from Ian Thomas to the Commissioners on 5.8.15 with an untruth;

3          omitted part of the same email from Ian Thomas (Strategic Director of CYPS) to the Commissioners;

4          omitted an important email exchange from 14.9.15 (it took until 16.5.16 to get this);

5          failed to disclose the involvement of the DLT (Departmental Leadership Team) in the seeking of “independent expert guidance”. RMBC have refused to disclose further information about this:

6          failed to disclose the involvement of the DLT in the decision to purchase 1500 copies of Voices of Despair Voices of Hope. It took until 19.8.16 for this to be disclosed.

A second response (on 7.12.15):

7          contained at least one (now evidenced) lie;

8          failed to disclose that Commissioner Stella Manzie had written part of the response (she may have been dishonest in doing so.

An Internal Review of the FOI responses (on 15.1.16):

9          confirmed that Jean Imray had lied.

When Jean Imray was asked for further clarity (also on 15.1.16) she emailed Ian Thomas, Linda Harper, Malcolm Newsam and Linton Steele and wrote:

10        “I have no intention of replying to this”.
