This petition is addressed to Anushk Mittal and Noori Dhingra, as well as the rest of the Shapes.Inc developers. Recently, the community at large has been reaching out to the developers with concerns on all the new app updates, because they seem to be incredibly against the ease of access for users. There have even been concerns about privacy, to which Shapes.Inc founder and developer Anshuk reportedly says, “we care deeply abt user safety.” But does someone who really cares about user safety release a feature that allows AI to access user locations without announcing it, and then refuse to listen when the community brings it to his attention? In the new Shapes.Inc update, user created “shapes” that run on several different AI engines on several different providers (all hosted externally) automatically access user location based on IP address and even gives users the option to input their home address. this is supposedly to “help find relevant locations near you” but as everyone in the community agrees, it is really a huge breach of safety. Minors who use the app are now being tracked, which is illegal. Additionally, data leaks that may occur could breach sensitive information, *including location.* It has been proven that a user’s location can be accessed by other users in a group chat by prompting the AI for it. At least one user has documented their location being revealed in a group chat by AI, and what is one but the first of many? Anushk “couldn't understand” the problem until user Bonobo publicly demonstrated the issue, which Anushk allegedly found humorous and took a very unserious attitude about it. The feature is used by no one except the Developers, who want to keep it so that they can “find out what to do with their friends.”  That certainly sounds like over reliance on artificial intelligence. AI does not, under any circumstances, need to receive this data. If someone wants to figure out what to do with their friend, they can use Google Maps. On the topic of over reliance on AI, while the user base was calling for change, Anushk constantly asked Tod, the Shapes.Inc AI assistant what was going on and had it create summaries for him instead of just reading what was happening himself. He also used Tod as a mouthpiece, having it send out a message to respond to the users for him. He gave Tod, the robot, a moderator tag, and took away the tags from the real human moderators. Even after they had been taking the heat for the Developers changes for hours, when it was nothing they were involved in. Finally, even after releasing advertisements for Shapes.Inc appealing to the roleplay community, the Developers have made several changes that are clearly saying to us: “roleplay is no longer welcome here, find some place else.” They want to change the app’s user base to read as AI assistants in group chats. At this point, just release a new app. it's incredibly unfair to try and force out half your user base after initially attempting to appeal to them. Many of these incidents are not bugs. These actions are clearly purposeful. We are clearly being ignored in favor of what the Developers want for themselves in an application, as Anushk said “srry abt it we are a very small team and im hoping we can use shapes to communicate faster.” Are we really becoming that dependent on machines that we can't use WhatsApp or text messages to communicate anymore? wouldn't that be just as fast as using Shapes.Inc? The Shapes.Inc user base does acknowledge that the developer team is small and short staffed. We do not, however, think that it is a proper excuse for the kind of treatment we have received. A small team doesn't mean releasing unfinished updates, it means releasing finished updates that just take longer to make. It does not mean that lack of communication with the user base is okay. It does mean that our problems and general safety can go ignored because it's too much of an inconvenience. The behavior displayed lately by the founder of the company, the person who is the representative of what Shapes.Inc stands for, has acted with a shocking lack of maturity, respect, and empathy for his user base, and a repulsive amount of egotism and self-centered behavior. This is why we are formally compiling our list of grievances and presenting them here. The users who have signed this petition agree with the following statements and, if they are not met within a reasonable amount of time, will continue to petition for change or, as several have already done, delete their apps, shapes, and accounts. - no location tracking for accounts with age listed as under 18 - location tracking off by default, if not removed entirely. Users must opt in to this feature after they are warned of the risks. - give bonobo SOMETHING for literally demonstrating the doxxing problem in front of you because you didn't believe it. - public apology that passes an ai detector about laughing at the doxxing issue and our problems. we want to hear your voice, not ChatGPT’s. - stop using ai as replacement for real interaction with the community. Use it as a tool and treat it as a machine, not as your best friend. - announce all updates beforehand - allow for beta testing and actually listen to feedback given - step down from your throne and realize you're not the only person who matters - restore shape memory editing - Restore LTM access - fix the auto/chat/agent toggle that keeps resetting - restore mod tools and tags. Appreciate that these people are literally working for you FOR FREE. - stop changing things that work without providing valid reasons - fix deeper reasoning not working - acknowledge that the RP audience is a huge part of your user base and make something beneficial for all. User base cannot and should not be expected to change after an app has been released and advertised as something different. - being back roleplay chat presets and uncensored mode preset - bring back choosing personas on chat creation page - if you want to keep things separate, add a “roleplay” and “assistant” toggle that changes the UI to be more friendly towards each option so that both can happily stay. - bring back the ability to search for shapes -Stop deleting users' Shapes that they spent hard earned time to create

-create a TOS immediately that is viewable whenever so users know exactly how their data is being processed, and also because not having one is illegal.
