Thank you all for your support of this petition! It means so much to me and all of the other Grade 11 Shads. We reached 2,500 signatures in just 24 hours: wow! We received another message from Shad today with more explanation about their decision; however, I am still not satisfied with their response to the cancellation of the program. They are currently trying to make some online programming (a few sessions, not the complete program) available to Grade 11 students this summer. This is of course appreciated, however I still think we deserve the full-Shad experience.
I have been in contact with Shad donors and media outlets over the last two days. I was very pleased to hear back from CBC Edmonton earlier today and will be doing a radio interview on their channel live at 5:05 MST. I also did an interview with EverythingGP from Grande Prairie, Alberta, and they will be publishing an article tomorrow.
Once again, thank you for your support of this cause. You are all amazing! Let's continue our momentum and keep lobbying to Shad for change!
