The Issue

When Flock cameras can be used to track people, when data can be shared too broadly, and when the public is left guessing about who has access, we are no longer talking about safety alone. This affects everybody in our city.

Once surveillance expands without clear limits, it never just stays narrowly focused. It changes how people move through their own neighborhoods. It creates fear that the technology will be used to control people instead of protect them. And when residents do not know how information is being used or shared, trust in local government gets weaker instead of stronger.

That is why I am calling on the Huntington Beach City Council to set strict, public rules for any Flock camera use in our city. If these cameras are going to be used, the city must limit where they are placed to legitimate high-need areas, clearly restrict how data is used and shared, and make public exactly who can access the information. We need real transparency and enforceable privacy protections.

If you agree that Huntington Beach needs real safeguards before surveillance expands, please sign this petition and help demand accountability from our city leaders.
