Continue and accelerate production on the film adaptation of the first novel, Magyk, of the critically acclaimed fantasy series, Septimus Heap.

The Issue

Almost 10 years ago, Warner Bros. purchased the rights to adapt the first novel of the popular fantasy series Septimus Heap into a major motion picture. It has been heard that preliminary work has been done on this project such as designing the visuals of the move itself and, of course, penning a screenplay. The project even hired David Frankel as the film's director and Karen Rosenfelt as producer, two extraordinarily talented people in the field of cinema. For a very long time, fans of the series around the world waited expectantly for the project to come to life. But it never did.

Since the end of the 2nd highest grossing franchise of all time, many have looked up in wonder at Warner Bros. waiting for them to bring out another franchise of a young hero who is not only capable of overcoming evil in his journey but bringing in heaps of critical acclaim and millions of box office money. Warner Bros. has not delivered and since the Harry Potter franchise, they have not been able to meet that same success. Since the end of the Harry Potter franchise, Summit Entertainment has adapted the Twilight series, Lionsgate has brought in millions and shot many actors to fame through the Hunger Games series, and 20th Century Fox has desperately tried to recreate this success but has embarrassingly failed through its film adaptations of the Percy Jackson series.

Time and time again, fans have been let down by false hopes of a film that might happen down the road and in this day and age, there is an overabundance of young adult novel film adaptations--but none of them have ever reached both the financial and critical success of that of Harry Potter. And the reason is clear: when the first Harry Potter film was released, it struck a chord, something that has impacted a whole generation of children through its lessons of love and friendship. This same theme resonates throughout the Septimus Heap series: that despite the wickedness in the world, love conquers all. Thoroughly original and creative, the world of Septimus Heap will introduce audiences to a universe they will never want to leave.

And so Warner Brothers, from all the fans of this beautifully created series, we ask that you revisit this project and reconsider the potential of this franchise. You are known for successfully adapting a series of children's books into one of the most successful franchises of all time. Live up to your reputation and do it once more through Septimus Heap. Fans have waited too long and know for certain that Warner Brothers can pull this off. With one voice we want you to know: make this movie as now the Time is Right.
