Separate Asia into 2 Continents: Asia & The Middle East

The Issue

As a concerned global citizen, I am deeply passionate about recognizing and respecting the diverse cultural and ethnic identities that exist within our world. It is with this sentiment that I propose the separation of Asia into two distinct continents: Asia and The Middle East.

Growing up in a multicultural society, I have witnessed firsthand the unique characteristics and traditions that differentiate various regions. There are several countries within what is currently considered "Asia" that exhibit cultural and ethnic similarities more aligned with the Middle East. By acknowledging these differences, we can foster a greater understanding of each region's history, heritage, and societal dynamics.

To support this proposal, let us consider some relevant facts:

1. Cultural Distinctions:
The Middle East possesses a rich tapestry of cultures influenced by Arabic, Persian, Turkish, Kurdish, and other ethnic groups. These cultures often share linguistic features such as writing systems characterized by curly lines or calligraphy styles specific to the region.

On the other hand, Asian countries like China, Japan, Korea predominantly employ writing systems characterized by sharp straight lines or logographic scripts like Hanzi or Kanji. This distinction in written language reflects significant cultural differences between these regions.

2. Ethnic Similarities:
The Middle East is home to diverse ethnic groups such as Arabs, Persians (Iranians), Turks (Anatolians), Kurds (Kurdish people), among others. These communities share historical ties dating back centuries and possess unique customs rooted in their respective ancestral backgrounds.

In contrast to this diversity found in the Middle East region specifically known for its Arab influence; Asian countries encompass an array of distinct ethnicities including Han Chinese (China), Malay (Malaysia), Tamil (India/Sri Lanka), Mongols (Mongolia) - each with their own rich histories deserving recognition as separate entities from the Middle Eastern nations.

By recognizing these cultural and ethnic distinctions, we can promote a more accurate representation of the diverse regions within our world. This separation will allow for a deeper appreciation and understanding of the unique identities that exist across Asia and The Middle East.

I urge you to support this petition in order to foster greater cultural recognition, respect, and understanding among nations. Let us embrace diversity by acknowledging the distinctiveness of both Asia and The Middle East as separate continents.

ASIA-
