The concerned citizens of New Mexico demand that Nicholas Ortiz is sentenced as an adult and serves three consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole on three counts of first-degree murder and other charges.

On Father's Day, June 19, 2011, Nicholas Ortiz broke into the home of Lloyd, Dixie, and their special needs son, Steven Ortiz (no relation). He committed a premeditated act of brutally bludgeoning them with a pickaxe. At 16 years-old, Nicholas Ortiz and two gang-member friends murdered this beloved family. He proceeded to evade law enforcement by ridding of the evidence and misleading law enforcement for two years. He was found guilty by a jury of 12 and is to be sentenced as a juvenile.

We call on the honorable Judge Francis J. Mathew to sentence Nicholas Ortiz as an adult for three consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole. Please help keep our family, community, and the hard-working citizens of New Mexico and the United States safe.
