No one wants to think about sex offenders. The thought of them teaching in a school, working in a daycare, or somehow getting paid to work with kids makes our blood run cold. But statutes of limitation on child sexual abuse keep most victims out of court. And that keeps most sex offenders out of prison, off registries and free to work with kids. That’s why getting rid of statutes of limitation on child sexual abuse is so important. And also so controversial. Institutions that have been behaving badly and don’t want to be held accountable have spent a lot of money lobbying legislators. This bill won’t pass this year unless we make A LOT of noise.
