When people buy beauty products in Australia, they don't think about how that product has more often than not been tested on animals. I would like to ban the testing on animals on products sold in Australia, as it is cruel and inhumane. If a product is tested on animals, we have a right to know; just as we have a right to know whether a product is considered to be 'vegan', and not contain any animal elements. There is no reason that an animal should have to suffer as they do, just to benefit the cosmetic industry. I myself am wanting to be a part of the beauty industry, but the fact that so many makeup products contain animal fats and products, and that so many animals have suffered just for the purpose of the makeup; really makes me rethink my career choice and makes me ask myself why I would support such a thing. I have been vegan for six months and have thoroughly researched about the testing of makeup and other products on animals, and it just makes me sick to the stomach that we (as a society) have been supporting something like this for so long. Large companies are testing beauty products on animals because they have power, and will use it to their advantage. But if you go on google images and search 'animal testing' you will see why this is such a big issue, and why I care so much. If you wouldn't let your dog or cat go through that agony, why let a bunny rabbit go through it, just for the makeup you put on your face?? STOP TESTING ON ANIMALS!
