THE FREEMAN LAW "TELL ME WHY YOU PULLED ME OVER" BEFORE I GIVE YOU MY INFORMATION

THE FREEMAN LAW "TELL ME WHY YOU PULLED ME OVER" BEFORE I GIVE YOU MY INFORMATION
The Issue
A summary of the proposed ordinance is as follows:
This bill, known as “THE FREEMAN LAW,” is set forth for the justice system and police brutality. Our system needs to change throughout United States of America. This bill is the start of reforming of our justice system to have equal justice for all minorities and all the citizens in the United States of America. With the approval of this bill the confrontation of police officers with the public will become less.
The full text of the proposed ordinance is as follows:
“All Humans are born free and equal in dignity and rights” Eleanor Roosevelt.
"We cannot look at the problem and place an opinion! We must look at the problem and find a solution" Curtis E. Freeman
One should stand up, fight and even die for the protection of his and other rights and dignity. But sadly, in America the Traffic Police laws are drafted in such a way that there is no space for the human rights, a person’s dignity and his right to know his mistake or fault at the very first instance when he is stopped by the Traffic Police.
When the Police officer pulls a civilian over. Code “11-95 Routine traffic stop” They ask them for their license and registration. Upon civilian’s inquiry about why is he being pulled over? the Officer ask for the license and registration, instead of replying to the rightful question of the civilian. After providing the officer with the required documents, the officer then goes back to their car without telling the civilian about the reason.
After a while the Police officer comes back and gives the civilian their ticket and then tells them why they were pulled over. By then they’re mad, nervous, frustrated, scared and confused. This leads to confutation and from there leads to abuse of power from the officer and then untimely arrest.
With the “Freeman Law Bill” in place, we want it so when Police officer pulls over a civilian for a traffic stop, the officer must tell you why you are being pulled over. Once the officer gives you a legitimate reason you then give the officer what he’s asking for and he then goes back to his car.
That way you know why you’re being pulled over and understand. Hence, in this way, you’re not as mad and you’re more calm for when he comes back, the officer then gives you your warning or ticket.
With the “Freeman Law Bill” in place, it will ease tension between the civilian and the Police Officer. It will stop or limit police brutality and confrontation which will lead to less arrest. With the “Freeman Law Bill” in place, we are willing to work with the police in the community but there needs to be a better training of officers and more law protecting civilians’ rights.
As without equality there is no liberty. We all pledge an oath. That oath is, to live with liberty, equality and justice for all.
