Reopen Lake Mills Park swimming area and bring back the beach there.
The Issue
Lake Mills Park in Chuluota, Florida has closed the long-standing swimming area and put grass down where the beach used to be. This was a popular swimming area that has been enjoyed for years by residents and became even more important during the Covid-19 pandemic due to less opportunities in our area.
Having spoken with various personnel in Seminole County, I have been given multiple reasons as to the change and "how that swimming was never allowed to begin with."
However, anyone from this area knows this was NOT a secret swimming hole nor was it a dangerous water area. I have not gotten a solid answer on the reason for the closure nor on their argument over water quality. Their own map for this park shows the beach head which is now covered with fresh grass.... Beach in Map
Let YOUR voice be heard and help keep our rural area boundary safe and clean and NOT allow our elected Officials close something without any facts as to exactly WHY this area was closed after I had multiple email communications with County Officials.
Our goal is for our voices to be heard and this issue put on the agenda by the Seminole County Commission and voted on by our elected officials; so that we know who is for closing this long standing tradition swimming area and they're put on record on their stance regarding this issue when voted on.
